Meatball Croissant

This here, is SOOO good I can't stand it!

Here is what you'll need:
Croissant dough triangles
frozen meatballs
BBQ sauce
cheese

First, I opened the croissant package and separated them all out. on a cookie sheet. Next I placed a meatball on each one. Then I put a pinch full of cheese on top (grated or shredded will work) and topped it with BBQ sauce. Once all ingredients were added, I rolled them up so nothing was showing but dough. I placed sesame seeds or pepper on top just for looks but you don't need to if you don't have any.

Place in preheated oven (350*f). Cook until croissants are golden (about 25 minutes).

Now go share the goodness with your family!

Easy Cobbler

This is so easy you wont believe it!

1 package yellow cake mix
16 oz can (or 2  8oz cans) of peaches or pears or apples... or cherries
1/4 cup butter

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a 9x13 baking dish, pour the entire can(s) of fruit, even the juice! Next, evenly place the cake mix on top of the fuit. You may need to gently bursh it around to smooth it evenly. Then cut the butter into 8-10 pieces and drop randomly on top of the cake mix.
Place in oven and bake for about 35 minutes. Remember to keep an eye on it to make sure it doesnt burn!

Serve with ice cream or enjoy by itself!! My favorite!!

German Apple Pancake

4 eggs
1/2 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons melted butter

1/4 cup unsalted butter
1/4 cup white sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 large tart apple -  sliced

In the blender, blend eggs, flour, baking powder, sugar and salt.

Gradually mix in milk, through the little whole in the lid while the blender is on its lowest setting. Add vanilla, melted butter in little dish in the microwave (about 10-30 seconds).

Let batter stand for 30 minutes or overnight. (Long wait! I know!)

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F

Melt butter in a round pie pan, brushing butter up on the sides of the pan. In a small bowl, combine 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon. Toss your sliced apples in cinnamon sugar mixture and pour over melted butter.

Now that your batter has sat for at least 30 minutes, its time to pour it over your apple, sugar and butter!

Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 375 degrees F and bake for 20 minutes or until the eggs are no longer giggly.

Once it's finished call your family to the table and enjoy with homemade maple syrup!

*Remember to have help cutting apples as well as when placing and removing dish from the HOT oven!

Mini Pizzas!!

Alright, these pizzas are quite fantastic! You can make one for yourself of many for your whole family!

1 English muffin or bagel
Tomato sauce, pizza sauce, BBQ sauce or ranch (whichever sauce you like)
Toppings (pepperoni, chicken, sausage, olives, onion, mushrooms...)
Cheese!

Separate the bagel or English muffin so it's in half horizontally. Preheat oven or toaster oven to broil.
Spread sauce of your choice on muffin or bagel. Next place you toppings on, then the cheese.
Put in oven until cheese is melted.

Sweet N Spicy Chicken

This is so delicious you wont know what to do with yourself!

1 bag of breaded chicken breast (you could also use wings, nuggets, tenderloin...)
1/2 cup Frank's Red Hot Sauce
1/2 cup Brown sugar

Cook chicken in oven according to directions. While its cooking, make sauce.
In pan, place hot sauce and brown sugar together. Using a whisk stir until it's all mixed together. Cook it on medium high until it bubbles just a tiny bit (so almost a boil). It should look like sweet and sour sauce and be kinda thick like syrup.
Once chicken is done cooking, brush sauce over pieces. Careful not to burn yourself!

You can serve it with rice, noodles, fries... you name it!

Syrup!

This yummy maple syrup is the perfect addition to those waffles your mom makes!!

1 cup brown sugar
1 cup regular white sugar
1 cup water
1 teaspoon maple flavoring
1 pinch salt

Put all of it together in a pan on the stove. Turn stove on to medium high and stir with a wire whisk. Don't let it boil! Just let it get really hot! After it is mixed together well, and looks like syrup, turn the stove off.

Serve with warm waffles, pancakes, German pancakes or on French toast!!! You can store leftovers in a canning jar, refrigerate it, and just microwave it next time you want to use it!

Fish Jello!

Clean glass fishbowl
Package blue raspberry Jell-O

Sweedish Fish!

Make Jell-O as directed (don't refrigerate yet). Pour liquid into fish bowl and place in refrigerator for 60 minues. Take it out and place sweedish fish in jello to appear as if they are swimming!
Place back in refrigerator until set (a few more hours). YUM!!

Ramen Stir Fry!

Ok, this is good lunch to make on a Saturday, when Dad can eat a sandwhich...

1 Package top ramen
1/2 of smaller bag of mixed veggies (I like stir fry mixes but anything you like works)
1/2 Tablespoon butter
4 Tablespoons Yoshida's Sauce

First cook the ramen noodles just like normal. After draining, do not put in seasoning packet. Heat a frying pan on Medium and put the butter in to melt it. After butter is melted, place noodles in pan and add vegitables. Stir to mix it all together and cook for about 3 minutes. Now add Yoshida's sauce! You can add more or less if you'd like. After it is all mixed together, dish it up and eat it!

Chicken Pot Pie!

Alright, this one is fun! You can use canned chicken, leftover chicken or turkey. If you don't have any of those, you can boil some chicken, let it cool then cut it up.

1 package pie crust dough (should be two crusts in one box, one for top and one for bottom)
1 smaller bag frozen peas and carrots (or whatever veggies you'd like to add, maybe carrots...)
1 and 1/2 cups cooked chicken (or turkey)
1/4 cup milk or cream
1/4 cup onion (if you like onion)
1/2 teaspoon curry powder
2 teaspoons garlic powder or garlic salt
2 teaspoons back pepper

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Get out a pie pan and spray it with cooking spray.
Open up the pie crust and place one of them into the sprayed pan. Don't poke holes in it, ok? The juice will all leak out if you do that.
In a pan on the stove, combine the milk, onion and spices (if you don't have one of the spices, its ok)
Cook it on medium high while you....
Put chicken and veggies on top of the pie crust. Once your finished with that, drizzle the milk over the chicken and veggies. Now carefully place other pie shell on top of your creation. Use a fork to press the edges down all around edge of the pie crust.

Cook it for 45 minutes, keep an eye on it. It may need to cook a little longer or a little less.

Sparkling Apple Slush!

This one is pretty yummy! It's tingly, sweet, cold and just too good to be true!

15 ice cubes
1/2 can frozen apple juice concentrate
2 cups ginger ail or sprite

Place ice and apple juice in blender. Also add 1 cup of the soda. Blend til its all smooth. Then add one more cup of the soda in and blend for just a few seconds to blend it all together.

Place in glasses and share with your family!

Frapachinos!

I LOVE Starbucks Frappuccinos! I have only tried their Vanilla but at home, you can make any flavor you want! Here is how I make mine:

1.5 trays of ice cubes (about 15 cubes)
1 2/3 cups milk
1/3 cup of liquid coffee creamer (any flavor you want!)
2 Tablespoons sugar
Whipped Cream as garnish!

If you don't have coffee creamer, this is how to make it:
1.5 trays of ice cubes (about 15 cubes)
2 cups milk
1 Tablespoon Vanilla extract if you just use regular creamer or none at all
2 or 3 Tablespoons sugar
Whipped Cream as garnish!

Grilled Cheese Sandwich!

First of all, get out two slices of bread. Butter one side of both slices.

If you like BBQ sauce, spread a little on one of the un-buttered sides of the bread.

Second, slice a few slices of cheddar cheese (enough to cover one slice of your bread)
. Place it on one of the un-buttered sides.

If you feel like it, place a slice of lunch meat on top of the cheese. If not, just put the other slice of bread on top (butter facing up).

Now, get a frying pan out, put it on the stove. Turn the stove onto medium and wait about 1 minute for it to heat up. Then place your sandwich on the pan. After about 3 minutes, flip it! It should be golden brown. Wait for the next side to be cooked to perfection and ta-da! You have a yummy grilled cheese sandwich!

Be Safe!!!

I want to point out some really important things to remember while working in the kitchen!

1) Wash your hands with hot water and soap!
Wash them before touching food so you don't get germs or dirt on the food that will end up in someone's mouth! It's even more important to remember to wash your hands after touching raw meat.

2) Be SUPER careful with sharp objects. Knives, scissors and peelers are great tools in the kitchen but they can also hurt! Just remember to go slow, watch closely and don't get distracted!
** Also! It's really not a good idea to use sharp objects without asking first.

3) Don't get burned! The stove and oven get so hot they can really hurt! Here are some tips on how to stay safe: use hot mits, keep pan handles to the side so you don't accidentally spill something hot on yourself of others, and keep paper and cloth off the hot surfaces.
** Ask for help when taking things out of the oven until you feel very comfortable doing it yourself. I am still too afraid to take some things out so I have my parents (or husband) help me... and I'm an adult!

4) Steam Burns! Speaking of not burning yourself... did you know that steam can burn you worse that boiling water?! Don't stick your face or hands in steam.  While pouring hot water, use a hot mit and make sure the pan is not facing towards you.

5) Keep your hair in a pony tail if it goes past your shoulders. No one likes hair in their food! Eww!

6) Keep liquids cleaned up! Leaving some spilled water on the floor can cause you to slip and fall! Just quickly wipe it up with a paper towel to keep from falling.

Now don't get too worried. While the kitchen can be dangerous, it's a really safe place as long as everyone is careful!
